So sometimes in life there are coincidences where God shows us what we need, without us realizing we need it. For example, every year my family travels to Virginia for 4th of July to visit with other family. It is a wonderful trip with the opportunity to visit a local book fair with discounted, brand new books. While there, I found this book entitled Desperate by Sarah Mae & Sally Clarkson. I am slowly reading through this book and it has hit me to the core to realize that I am the mom she is talking about in this book. It is real, raw and all-inspiring.
The part that makes me realize God wanted me to read this book and absorb it, is when reading the Sunday paper, where Sarah Mae was featured as a local writer. Imagine that, buying a book in Virginia and finding out the author lives in Lancaster (Lititz area) and has just finished another book, which I hope to someday read. Had I not recognized the name, I might have just passed this article by and not have given it another thought. But seeing her name and reading the article, it made me realize how much I needed to hear her words, words that are potentially a vessel from God – to let me know I am not alone in this journey of motherhood and at some point, we all face similar challenges but with God as our Father, we do have help…and hope.
